A Method Of Mapping Between Domain Ontologies Based On Similarity Calculation

Ontology plays an important roll in semantic Web. However, each field has its own ontology standards, and the establishment of ontology does not have a unified standard, which causes problems of heterogeneous systems, structure heterogeneous, semantic heterogeneous and so on. Mapping between ontologies plays an important role in solving problems mentioned above and the integration of ontology.In this paper, the semantic similarity of concept and various elements of concept that includes name, instance, attribute and structure are considered to get the comprehensive similarity of concept. Then the pair of concept can be selected by comprehensive similarity.Two domain ontologies of birds are used to carry on mapping based on the research above. Then the precision, recall have been used to analyze the mapping results. The results show that the approaches can realize mapping between different ontologies effectively.
