Typically, RFID system is composed by RFID tag, reader, mid-ware and application software. RFID tag is the primary issue for RFID system deployment, for customers, they only need one proper tag, however, there are thousands of possible choice tag, how can they get their most proper tag? Customers usually contact several RFID tag supplier, ask them to recommend proper tag and provide sample for verify. This process is rather time consuming, however, can not give the customer an authority conclusion.An RFID tag type selection system was proposed in this paper to solve the problem above. First we develop an RFID tag recommendation system, at the same time, we collect all the popular tags in the market, collect their performance by measure or data mining, and store the performance data in database. Our tag recommendation system will compare the user requirement with the tag performance in our database, and calculate an RFID tag list which should satisfy the user requirement. By the way, the user can view the detail data of the tag in the tag list if they were authorized.The critical work we achieved related to the tag recommendation system was proposed in this paper. First, the importance and related work of our system was demonstrated from cost fraction of system, user requirement. Then summary and analysis of Tag antenna design procedure, tag IC, inlay was proposed. Based on the work above, a prototype of tag recommendation was proposed. This prototype can provide proper tag list based on user requirement and database knowledge mining. In order to collect enough data and reduce the work load, critical tag performance index was distinguished and a series of tag index, test method and test result was generated. Sample application of our system was also demonstrated.
