At first, the radio frequency technology and automated baggage sorting system is introduced, and the current automatic baggage sorting system based on bar code technology is analyzed. A new automatic baggage sorting system based on UHF RFID technology is proposed. The current technical difficulties of UHF RFID is studied, the model of Reader micro strip antenna's structure and the resonance frequency of the antenna structure is hard to determine, collision problem is bringed by luggage tags entering the reader's work area simultaneously. Radial basis function neural network modeling is used to solve complex nonlinear relationship between the structure and the resonant frequency of the micro strip antenna. In order to avoid local minima problems caused by the gradient descent method, genetic algorithm and ant colony algorithm is used to optimize the neural network. The RBF Neural Network which optimized by Ant colony algorithm is used to establish a good model for micro strip antenna design. Three kind of basic binary anti-collision algorithms are studied, and an improved anti-collision algorithm is promised. The simulation shows that the number of communications and the communication volume of the improved binary anti-collision algorithm which are much lower than the other three anti-collision algorithm. The basic structure and function of the automatic baggage sorting system based on UHF RFID technology is introduced, and the hardware configuration of baggage sorting process is analyzed, which controlled by RFID reader. An UHF RFID reader is designed, and the simulation experiment of controlling portion of reader is completed in Code Warrior platform.
