Design Of The Framework Of Semantic Social Network Application Based On Ontology Description Language

Semantic web is one of the hottest research areas of Internet technology recently, whose key is how to construct ontology and reasoning rules based on the a machine-readable format of information, so as to implement semantic knowledge representation and reasoning.The basis of semantic web is ontology, which is the specification and explanation of an existing system. Modeling with ontology can make system structure, document and encoding more clearly and easy to maintain. Besides, ontology also has powerful querying and reasoning abilities.Social network is a kind of application based on personal relationships. It has become an important part of more and more people's daily life nowadays. Although they provide much convenience for connecting people, the diversity of the services made it very difficult for data sharing, and hence limited its development.This paper abstracted ontologies from the social network applications using semantic web technologies, and then reconstructed the architecture of the classic B/S application. By adding ontology layer, we managed to create the mapping between relation database and ontology library, and provided a framework for semantic social network application development. Finally, we demonstrated the characteristics and advantages of the framework by building a demo system.
