The Semantic Web is formally put forward by Berners-Lee, the initiator of WWW, in 2000.The main purpose of the Semantic Web research is to extend the current WWW in order to make the information in the network have its semantic understood and handled by the computer, and be convinent to the alternation and cooperation between people and the computer. So, the impotance of research is how to represent the information as the form that the computer can understand and handle, that is, the information has its semantic. The Semantic Web mainly bases on XML and RDF/RDFs, and creates the ontology and logical deduction in order to accomplish the semantic-based knowledge representation and deduction on these bases, then be able to be understood and handled by the computer. In the research of Semantic Web, the important contents of research which are inseparable include knowledge representation, Ontology, intelligent Agent, and so on.In the article, we firstly research the Semantic Web system structure, data model, OWL knowledge representation, the ways of the knowledge representation and deduction that are supplied when regarding ontology as the knowledge level and its application; In addition, we research the description ways regarding RDF(Resource Description Framework) and RDFS(RDF Schema) as metadata. OWL is regarded as the ontological description language, metadata is represented as tri-array, extending the RDF and RDFS relation type, adding the semantic information to the relation, creating the concept level tree and the concept semantic network; we also research the knowledge deduction and knowledge gaining algorithm of relations, such as contain, symmetry, transitivity, inverse and so on, and extend the OWL ontological description language and strengthen its ability of the rule representation; Secondly, we think that the semantic network is knowledge representation way that has stronger expression ability and flexibility in the artifical intelligence domain and it become mature little by little, then this article researches the transformation from RDF to SNetL(the semantic network language); Morover, we research the theory of Description Logic and its application in the knowledge representation and deduction of Semantic Web; On the basis of above research, we create the common-software information model when linking the common-software knowledge domain, create the ontology framework of this domain and develop the intelligent knowledge discovery experimental system of the common-software information domain. Finally, we put forward the research directions in the future.
