Interaction Of XML-Based Heterogeneous Database

Methods to make the structures and data interacted in XML-based heterogeneous database are presented in this paper. And the structures and mapping rules for XML interacting are laid out. Upon these rules, the relational database and RXM(Relation XML Model) are connected smoothly and some mapping algorithms are designed well.This article reads as follows:(1) RXM is presented.The structures and mapping rules for XML interacting are laid out. The elaboration are also made for the principles of the data transference between XML and relational database.(2) Detail structure mapping and data mapping between relational database and RXM.The conflicts of heterogeneous databases are discussed such as type conflict, naming conflict, etc and related resolutions are proposed.(3) Using Eclipse, the author developes a tool for XML data interaction, makes it practical in the real environment, and verifies the data exconversion between SQL Server and Mysql.The results show that the methods above could make good interaction for the structure and data of heterogeneous database and ensure the data integrity. Comparing with previous mapping algorithm, this has the following advantages:XML documents contains structure document and data document, which achieve relational database structure and data well.XML structure documents meet the requirements xml schema, which could indicate various of relational database constraints and ensure the structure and data well.
