Research On BOM Multi-view Mapping Oriented Information Integration In PDM

Bill of materials, as base data in manufacturing enterprise information system, almost pass through all departments in product life cycle. Manufacturing enterprise BOM have characteristic such as:complexity, huge data, involve multiple department, so most enterprises have no uniform standard for building BOM and lack of effective methods for BOM management. As a result, the business conducted around BOM had been influenced seriously. PDM software can be used to manage all of the information about BOM. This thesis study on the theories and key technologies of BOM multi-view mapping. BOM multi-view can meet department's individual needs of BOM and can be centralized managed in PDM software. Besides, BOM can be used to realize the information integration of PDM and ERP.In order to realize better storing, sharing and exchange information of BOM, The common data structure of BOM was researched. The storage and exchange mode of BOM based on XML was constructed. The XML and XML Schema were used for BOM information modeling, so XML BOM was transferred in different departments or different systems when BOM information need to share.For diverse needs of BOM from different departments, the method of BOM multi-view mapping was researched. The workflow model of BOM mapping was designed. Combined with the actual needs of enterprises, BOM mapping tools based on SolidWorks Enterprise PDM were developed. The tools can get EBOM from PDM system, and generate PPBOM and MBOM through BOM mapping algorithm driven by workflow. At last, the method of information integration based on BOM was researched, and an example of information integration of SolidWorks Enterprise PDM and Kingdee K/3 ERP was given.The above method was applied in an enterprise, it had been found that, BOM views were generated to meet the various needs of departments by BOM mapping tools, and information integration between PDM and ERP system was realized. So the problem of BOM data inconsistencies was solved, the integrity of BOM data was maintained, and the phenomenon of repeating data input was avoided. As a result, the operating cost was reduced and the competition ability of enterprise was enhanced.
