Large construction's Structural Health Monitoring(SHM) technology has become a worldwide hot research topic. Using wireless sensor network technology for collecting all kind information of structure and transmitting them to the management center provides a new way in this research and development field.Currently, most data acquisition of SHM is mainly using the wired sensors. But the monitoring network of wired sensors needs a lot of money and high maintenance costs. Sensor's nodes with high computational and wireless communication capability, and also have high flexibility of networking that reduces the spending on installation (without need of deploying wires) and maintenance to a great extent. Structural health monitoring system based on wireless sensor network will have broad prospects. This thesis adresses the research and design of the structural health monitoring client systems based on wireless sensor networks, and using the new virtual instruments enriches system solutions. The main tasks are as follows:(1)This thesis designs four complete programs of the client system adapting to different application environment and user requirements. They include local monitoring solution, remote monitoring solution based on embedded gateway, remote server monitoring solution and local-remote integrated monitoring solution;(2)This thesis elaborates the hardware selection, design and development, also gives the corresponding schematic, PCB and the picture of real object;(3)This thesis elaborates the software selection, design and development, also completed the corresponding code and finally hardware debugging;(4)This thesis demonstrates the function of the system and tests the technology's feasibility. Finally it gives the experiment result and show the practical application value of these system solutions;(5)The last chapter is a summing-up of the above studies; moreover, some problems still existed in the field, as well as the direction of further development of the subject is also pointed in this chapter.
