With the rapid development of information technology and continual expansion of enterprise scale, the demands for performance such as business continuity, real-time are increasing for business systems, and a short period of downtime may result in collapse of the entire business system. In such a background, it is urgent for government, enterprise, especially military operations to improve the robustness of the system. But now it is hard for the traditional data backup technologies to meet the requirements of business systems. To improve the probability of business systems'survival in the disaster, we should prepare the system for disaster recovery. In military applications, because of the wide range of military attack, we should focus on the remote disaster recovery during a wide area network in order to improve the probability of military service systems'survival while the war breaks out. In this paper, firstly, the character of the private network for disaster recovery has been analyzed, and then the problem that how to improve the performance of data transmission in the disaster recovery system is studied based on these analyses. My work focuses on:Firstly, an analysis about how does the three-way handshake influent the performance of TCP application data flows, especially short-time data flows, is given. Combining the characteristics of the private network for disaster recovery, I provided an optimization for the process of three-way handshake, designed the FCTCP algorithm which can help establishing TCP connection more quickly and is application transparent, then verified that the performance of short-time data flows has been improved greatly after optimization.Secondly, the transmission performance of the wide-area data service has been improved obviously by applying the negative ACK to the disaster recovery private network. Combining the shortcomings of Jacobson RTO algorithm and the characteristics of the negative ACK mechanism, I designed a new RTO algorithm based on the negative ACK mechanism, verified that the estimation of the data transmission delay by the new algorithm is more precise than that by Jacobson RTO algorithm.Thirdly, I designed a remote data service framework, described the process of data aggregation, and analyzed something about prototype implementation based on the VTUN software.
