Wireless sensor network combines sensor technology, communication technology and computer technology together, has realized the unity of data collection, transmission and processing. WSN is widely used and drives the development of related industries. It is evaluated as one of ten emerging technologies which will influence the future of human lives, and has become the leading edge of information technology and hotspot of research. However, in the development of WSN, due to the lack of uniform standards and the constant emergence of new technologies, different companies and research institutes have adopted different technical solutions and built a lot of small WSN which is unable to communicate with each other, bound the development of WSN.TCP/IP has become the de facto standard of Internet communications, devices conform to TCP/IP protocol can access to the Internet immediately and conveniently. So, it's significant to develop networking equipments which are in accordance with the TCP/IP protocol and can integrate WSN with Ethernet. This paper proposes conceptions, designs and solutions of eWSN Switcher and EI-eWSN Switcher, and also realizes seamless integration with Ethernet and transparent communication between wireless nodes and PCs. eWSN switcher adopts MC13213 which integrates wireless module realizes the function of wireless nodes networking and extending the distance of communication. The El-eWSN which is based on eWSN has added the embedded single chip Ethernet solution MCF52233 of Freescale to integrate WSN with Ethernet seamlessly. Through eWSN switcher and El-eWSN switcher, users can use TCP/IP protocol instead of mastering the ZigBee protocol, and by using routers to take place of routing nodes in ZigBee network, we can improve the stability of communication, reduce the difficulty of development, and decrease the amount of development. At last, eWSN switchers and EI-eWSN switchers have been applied to granary remote monitoring system in which the software development of wireless node, PC monitoring program and Web server is completed and the remote monitoring function is realized. The result shows that this system works stably, and communications between wireless nodes and PCs are stable and reliable. It can meet the needs in practical application.
