Video switcher has been indispensable to the TV stations in radio and television program production. As the emergence and application of digital television technology,the traditional analog switcher has become difficult to meet the requirements of users. Therefore, the digital switcher technology appears. In order to promote the application in the studio and enrich television special effects, this paper researches and designes a low-cost digital switcher system.The entire system consists of the video selection subsystem, video synchronization subsystem, video effects subsystem and control panel Switching, wipe,and keying synthesis are involved in it as the three basic effects. These subsystems are based on the Altera Cyclone series FPGA chip; This thesis also detailedly studies the FPGA top-down and modular design method,designes the video selection module,the video feature extraction module,the switch effects module,the wiping effects module, the keying synthesis module and the video export module.In order to reduces the logic resource the switching effects used, the use of a ROM data selection method synthesizes and optimizes five kinds of switching skills such as Fast Cut Back.dissolve in and dissolve out and greatly; In order to enrich the wiping effects and reduces the logic resource, ten effects extend to thirty effects by using the basic effect combinations; In order to enhance the adaptability,the key synthesis based the HSV space has been improved by using the HSV space so that the requirements for keying video becomes to any rough solid background from any uniform solid color background.After the testing and analyzing in realistic, the digital switcher system developed by this subject has good effect and stable operation.External control is facilitate,and achieves the desired design goals, the system has a high practical value and strong market competitiveness.
