The image collection and transmission had a long history as a important method to obtain the visual information, it has great significance to improve the quality of people's production and life, image collection and transmission of water management in the irrigation area is also one important contents of information construction of irrigation area.The traditional image acquisition and transmission system,the majority may work with the help of video capture card ,make the PC as the running platform,this system has some advantages such as mature technology and powerful function,there is also a series of shortcomings such as large size and high development costs.The paper makes the image acquisition and transmission as research object,designs and implements an image acquisition and transmission system based on embedded terminal,realizes the real-time monitoring in the irrigation water management .The specific research contents as follows:(1)Based on investigating and analysising functional reqirements,the paper makes the whole system overall design,and completes the selection of the microprocessor, operating system and USB camera.(2)The paper constructs the hardware platform with ARM9 processor S3C2410 as the core, including the minimum system, memory modules, netwourk interface, versatile peripheral interfaces etc, and designs the specific hardware circuit diagram.(3)On the basis of analysising embedded system and Linux operating system archietecture,it completes the modification and transplantation of Bootloader, customization and transplantation of Linux kernel,establishment and transplantation of file systems,constructions the embedded software platform successfully.(4)According to the functional requirements of image acquisition and transmission ,the system realizes the USB camera driver transplantation ,develops the image-capture application program, carrys out the image acquisition fuction by analysising the device driver on the system software platform, then completes the transplantation of streaming media server and embedded web server, finally realizes the image acquisition and transmission sytem's overall function based on network communication about socket,gives the final results. Experimental tests show that the whole system runs stability,dynamic image displays smoothly in browser,picture is clear, and the system is small and scalable.This paper combines electronic technology, computer control technology, network technology and other technologies, proposes a building program and implementation of irrigation wireless video monitoring system based on embedded terminal, there is some reference in practice.
