With the rapid development of China's automotive industry and transportation as well as the popularity of vehicles and the rapid development of Wireless Sensor Network,higher requirements of vehicle performance test are put forward. Now, some areas can not achieve the installation of vehicle test equipment and construction of testing network, thus developing a vehicle performance test system with low-energy, wireless network characteristics has great social value and practical significance.This article analyzes the deficiencies of traditional performance test of vehicles, and its current development trend, propose vehicle performance test system based on Wireless Sensor Network. First this article this article reviews vehicle performance test current development status and development trend, then introduces Wireless Sensor Network, highlight physical layer, MAC sub-layer, network layer and application layer of ZigBee/IEEE802.15.4 protocol standard. This article analysis system then uses more energy-efficient ZigBee protocol standards.This paper introduces the system from two aspects:hardware and software. On hardware, microprocessor selects ARM7 family microprocessor LPC2138 as the main chip, wireless communication select CC2420 chip, select the appropriate sensors, and design peripheral circuits of power supply, clock, SPI and so on. On software, designs the driver program and the node program of ZigBee; design initial process of processor; also considers the energy management. Driver program mainly introduces CC2420 design program and SPI bus programming, ZigBee mainly considers software process of co-processor nodes and the final node. Finally, at present, there are more security risks in Wireless Sensor Network, this article proposes a wireless sensor network encryption by the AES encryption under the control of the soft-core Microblaze.
