With the development of industrial automation technology, the demand of monitoring data real-time transmission, open data interface and data linking security is increasing, and the limitation of control by wired networks is more and more prominent. So, the ZigBee, wireless sensor network technology developed for the demand. In wireless sensor technology, ZigBee is a standard that defines a set of communication protocols for low-data-rate, short-range, low-power-consumption wireless networking. Recently, ZigBee technology has been widely used in wireless sensor networks.In a traditional traction test vehicle inspection system, these reasons for more types of data collected and differences between locomotive make the connection to signal wire difficulty and time-consuming when test each time, and the connection cables are easily broken because of the vibration caused by the locomotive running. The factor affects the reliability of data collection. In addition, the test locomotive is often put into use as soon as possible after test, but the cables'disassembly is very time-consuming, and results in a waste of rail transport. The paper presents a precept that the traction test vehicle detection system use wireless sensor technology, and the precept will achieve traction test vehicle detection system networking.First of all, the paper analyses frame agreement of ZigBee technology, and introduced the ZigBee networking technology in detail. And then, through the analysis of test vehicle detection system and the comparison to several wireless sensor solutions, the paper presents that using CC2430 chip which is made by Chinpon/TI achieve the precept that the traction test vehicle detection system use wireless sensor technology. The paper designs the composite scenario for the traction test vehicle detection system, designs the distribution wireless sensor nodes in the locomotive and test vehicle, achieves the hardware design and software design process about wireless sensor nodes. Finally, the paper measures the test data on PC in the system.
