Wireless sensor network, as a new generation of sensor networks, has a very broad range of applications, their development and application will give humanity a profound impact on production and daily life. In February 2003 the United States, "Technology Review" magazine in his discussion of the next ten emerging technologies, wireless sensor networks as the first item; the same year, the United States, "Business Week" predict the future of the four new technologies, wireless sensor networks included.In this paper, I have discussed how to use CC2420 and ATMega128 for hardware-based wireless sensor implementation. First introduced the related theories, including the international standard and the ZigBee protocol stack IEEE802.15.4 content and analysis of the linkages and differences between the two; then introduced the wireless sensor network architecture, network theory, network process, explains the wireless network in theory; followed by the focus of this article, the chapter 3rd details the use of the related chips, introduce microprocessor ATMega128 and RF chip CC2420 and sensors working, block diagram of sensor nodes and schematic design. Finally, in the chapter 4th, I have made the software implementation of the specific methods, mainly on CC2420 work processes, how to initialize, group packages, contracting, receiving and parseing, and how the sensor collects data. Chapter 5th describes how the wireless sensor network works in greenhouse.
