| Yu Youren's debut was very legendary in the history of Chinese journalism and his determination to continue running a newspaper was hardly effaced between ups and downs. His experience of running the newspaper and news thoughts coming from the press activities played an important role in the history of Chinese journalism and provided some valuable ideological reference for late-comers.Press activities became the important parts for Yu Youren's whole life and the period from 1907 to 1913 was the peak of his press activities. Based on this condition, this paper can be divided into four chapters and three aspects to discuss his press activities.First of all, this paper analyses and demonstrates how his motivation of running a newspaper brought about and the process of running a newspaper proceeded. The second aspect is the core of this paper which concludes and discusses Yu Youren's news thoughts. In the last, this paper sums up the contribution of Yu Youren's press thoughts to Chinese journalism and the inheritance and the innovation from the former people's news thoughts. However, the obvious flaws of Yu Youren's news thoughts are that he didn't pay attention to gather and write, and concentrated on critical speech. |
