The horn antenna,especially the low-profile horn antenna,is a very widely used antenna in satellite communication ground terminals.Compared with other antenna forms,the horn antenna has the characteristics of low loss,wide bandwidth,and easy array.During the development of satellite communication products,how to realize a ground station antenna with high efficiency,high isolation,miniaturization,and easy conformity with the equipment is a key technical issue.This article focuses on this issue,based on the requirements of Ku-band satellite communication ground station products,researches on the low-profile horn array antenna and its feeding network,and achieves the following results:(1)Aiming at the choice of array element form and feed network form,an analysis and verification method is proposed to select the array element form and feed network form.Firstly,analyze and verify the performance indexes of the bandwidth and radiation efficiency of the three types of highly polarized purity units in the microwave band;secondly,demonstrate the differences in the bandwidth of different forms of feed networks;Parallel feed network.Simulation results show that the feeder network based on the suspended microstrip line has good transmission characteristics and is suitable for reducing the profile horn antenna array.(2)Aiming at the problem that it is difficult to miniaturize the horn antenna,three Ku-band horn antenna units with different heights are designed.The first unit designed is a waveguide feed horn antenna based on orthogonal mode coupler design,which has characteristics of wide frequency band and high isolation;the second unit designed is a low-profile horn antenna based on probe feed design.It has the characteristics of high isolation and low profile;the third unit designed is a low-profile horn antenna based on probe feed and stepped aperture change,which has the characteristics of low profile and high efficiency.Comprehensive consideration of miniaturization and radiation performance,the third unit with a height of 20 mm was selected as the array element speaker.(3)Aiming at the problem that the array antenna is difficult to achieve high gain and low weight,design and manufacture a 256-element array antenna made of engineering plastics.The designed antenna has a height of 20 mm and a weight of less than 1.5 kg.The actual measurement of the array shows that the gain value exceeds 31 d Bi and the aperture efficiency is more than 57%.In addition,the 64-element array based on the Chebyshev distribution was designed to achieve the expected design goals.Finally,this article summarizes the full text work,and puts forward the future work prospects for the shortcomings.
