In recent years, with the rapid development of the computer communication technology, the application of mobile phone has gradually penetrated into people's daily lives and it plays an important role in their study and work. However, due to the different software and hardware that various kinds of mobile phones have, it makes difficult for the same application to run on different types of mobile phones. So the developers often have the need to develop different versions of the user interface for different mobile devices, which led to the repetitive development and which greatly increased the cost of development. Therefore, in order to reduce the workload of the user interface developer and to enhance the efficiency of the user interface development, it is expected that a tool which can automatically generate proper user interface according to different devices should be developed urgently.To solve the problem which is mentioned above, a new idea of reusing task model of multi-devices interface development is put forward in this paper. To achieve the interoperability of the user interface, developers use the SVG browsers on the current operating system platforms and a variety of mobile devices to provide consistent SVG display and interactive JavaScript experience based on the SVG application, and develop a tool which is based on SVG phone interface generation tool (SPIGT) under the guide of it. SPIGT supports for designing user interface by starting from the task model, then generating the appropriate user interface based on SVG automatically by using the automatic dimension placement algorithm according to the characteristics of different display devices, thus avoids the duplication of development of the same application for different mobile devices and thereby improves the efficiency of the user interface development. It can provide complete functionality by combining the produced SVG interface with the scripts of JavaScript.First of all, this paper reviews the research background, research meaning, research purpose, research contents and research status of the user interface development at home and abroad. Then it analyzes the problems in traditional phone interface development and point out the reason of the problems (the device's GUI system differences and different development platform). At the same time, it gives us a solution:through the reuse task model to solve the problem within the mobile interface development, and by analyzing the features of the descriptive language in several current XML-based user interface, it indicate constructing the user interface with the application of the rich graphic elements in SVG and responding to user's actions by using the JavaScript which is supported by SVG. Then, on the basis of the mentioned above, it designs and achieves the SVG-based interface development tools for mobile phones (SPIGT). Finally, to verify the contents of study in this paper, the SPIGT usability testing was conducted. It proves that the tool has high developmental efficiency and availability through the test, which meets our design objectives.
