After several of the construction projects, Jilin Telecom IP MAN has basically completed all the local IP network and IP services of switching and network connectivity on the province network tandem. As a local high-speed core network, with so many broadband users and the rapid development of broadband applications, IP MAN is difficult to adapt to the business requirements, which is to carry out the business-oriented Internet access. The following three aspects should be included in IP MAN: infrastructure, applications and information. When the network structure is spoken of, the general structure of MAN can be divided into three layers: core layer, convergence layer and access layer. Finally, the development direction of the next generation of MAN is analyzed and prospected.The third chapter introduces the principles of IP Metropolitan Area Network, which is "sorting out levels, improving function, standardizing equipment, paying attention to result", the idea is decomposed and easy to made out. After reconstruction, the IP MAN should be with a clear structure, complete functions, control centralized. It can meet the requirements which voice, video, data service is undertaken. It can provide differentiated service and is capable of integrated loaded.From functional goals, the broadband access network should have access to the user isolation on layer II, and the ability of tabbed the unique user ID. The broadband access network has the ability of providing differentiated services on different levels, the ability of multicasting IPTV business on commercial-scale, the ability of accessing VPN from layer II and III by multi-meanings and carrying out enterprise interconnection physically or logically, the ability of anti-attack from the attacks come from the network layer and achieving network security. IP MAN should meet the require of the highest and lowest level of QoS, when the performance is spoken of.Additionally, the IP MAN construction plan is described and determined , achieving the purpose of standardization, according to the detailed steps of the actual implementation of IP MAN construction planning process.Chapter 4 gives preliminary analysis of the telecommunications business carried by IP MAN, and the development direction of IP MAN transmission. The total flow of all subscribers in the MAN can be calculated out according to the variety of band in recent years.According to the forecast period the average use of broadband online users increased bandwidth changes, and thus calculate the metropolitan broadband user services within the total flow.Chapter 5 introduces the IP networks important business planning and implementation and routing. The part of important business planning , mainly explains the different types of business are provided by IP networks which are composed by network functions of access control point and the module of access. In the process of comprehensive carrying business, the functions which to be carried out in service steps are management and safety of the user terminals, service perception and filtration of business, different service of priority distinguish services and controls of service diffluence.Some routing algorithm, advantages, disadvantages and actual application are introduced in the part of routing design. Some problems which will be met in general routing design was considered thoroughly. the planning design of telecommunications IP networks has its complexity such as the high reliability, diversity of Internet business provided, large user groups and the complexity of the network structure. The specific design scheme is made out on the four aspects of routing and BGP and QOS IGP metropolitan design.Chapter 6 describes the actuality of Jilin Telecom IP MAN. Analyses are carried out aiming at the existing problems in its network and the network architecture. A clear-building program of the three-tier network structure is put forward finally. The structure of existing core layer nodes which is Youzheng and Beidajie keep unchanged, the board and the port added. 3 sets BRAS which are Jiangbei, Shuniu, Xiangyang and 2 sets SR which is Youzheng and Shuniu is added into service access control layer. Convergence switches are arrayed on important nodes, namely Erdaojiang, Xi'an Road, Xinqingfeng, Yuchi, Shuniu, Xiangyang are added as an aggregation switching nodes, connected to the BRAS (or) SR appropriately according to their physical location. Key nodes which has great service should be used as light aggregation switching nodes. The latter are connected to the former with dual-link connection. Link protection can be achieved by the use of dual-link bare optical fiber and Ethernet ring.
