In the construction industry, geophysical prospecting qualitative analysis or steel, cement content analysis of rock specimens, density is one of the most important parameters to measure the quality or composition of the specimen. Usually, density parameter is measured by scale or mechanical density meter. the former method is operated manually , adding or reducing weight and balancing by hands, and then recording the result, at last calculating the density. This method includes too many procedures and the efficiency is low. The latter way also needs to adjust far mar to balance the folding boom. The efficiency of this way is also rather low, and the reading error is large and due to the limit of the dial, the measurement result is not very precise. Generally, it is easy to measure the density of solid with inerratic shape, but for solid without inerratic shape it is still a problem. Especially in the situation that need of a large number of mineral samples to be tested, the efficiency of the traditional method is very low. And the workers are easy to get tired, which may lead to greatly increase of the possibility of measurment bulky error. Obviously, these methods do not adapt to modern demand, so modern measuring device must be introduced to improve the accuracy and efficiency. The design of test equipment related to solid density and stand by the load sensor, measurement circuits, The density measuring instrument of the solid involved in this project is composed of the load sensor and its stands, measurement circuits, microprocessors, keyboards, monitors, interface circuit and etc. And the load sensors can be used to enhance the scope of the measured object's weight and the accuracy of the density measurement by linking more than two load sensors with the measurement circuits. And the load sensors can be replaced by each other among the process. Measurement circuits have simplified the cost of simulating processing the circuits and improved the accuracy of simulating measurement circuits; And the microprocessors can save a lot of measurements by adopting the large memory-chip microcontroller, a large-capacity memory chip can, omitting the need to manually record each measurement process, reducing the human error of manual records; Keyboard, LCD monitor is part of the measuring devices,.Multi-dot matrix LCD is adopted by the monitor, with menu as the processing methods; USB interfaces are used in Interface Circuit which can transmit the large number of measurement results stored in the microprocessors to the computer in order to facilitate computer data processing.In general test, for solid density measurement prototype instrument, measure according to the standard measuring method of density measurement. The test simulates actual working condition; different weight of far mars are used to calibrate different sensors adopts. Various of design requirements have been realized, and the overall system performance is good.The density examining instrument researched by this project has resolved the tough problem of measuring the density of the solid with irregular shapements by using the advanced sensor, SCM technology and the embedded operating system programming. And the density examining instrument of this research possesses many advantages, such as high precision, fast speed, without manual records of test results and so on.
