Wireless Sensor Network is a kind of Ad-hoc network that is composed of a large number of sensors which run a specific program for special application. There are two kinds of sensor nodes in WSN nowadays, normal nodes and multimedia nodes.Normal nodes can collect scalar data, such as temperature, pressure, and humidity.Multimedia nodes can gather media information like image, video and sound.Due to the different characteristics of these two types of nodes, researchers have done a great deal of research on Wireless Sensor Networks formed by these two kinds of nodes. At present, most of the researches only focus on the network formed by a certain kind of node and each kind of nodes has shortages.Normal nodes can only capture one kind of simple data and multimedia nodes have a large energy consumption.According to those situation, this thesis proposes an idea of using those two types of nodes to construct the network, which can reduce their disadvantages.Sensor deployment is the foundation of WSN,so requirements such as network coverage, node connectivity, data transmission and application requirements must be analyzed first before deployment. After analyzing above requirements, this thesis proposes the hybrid node deployment model based on the node deployment model of minimum density, which can track the target in the region. Also the multimedia sensor in this model can be used to capture video information of the target.Based on the hybrid node deployment model, this thesis proposes a low-power deployment scheme to ensure full-coverage and node connectivity. This scheme includes two phases, algorithm for those two kinds of nodes cooperating to find targets in sub-region and data transmission routing mechanism.By means of calculation, the model is proved to be low redundant and the simulation results shows that the network has low energy consumption.Through network energy consumption distribution analysis, some nodes consume too much energy,so this thesis put forward a method to fix this problem and extend the network lifetime.
