The working principle of Laser TV is that it uses the diode-pumped solid-state laser material to produce red, green, and blue CW lasers, of three different kinds of wavelengths as a light source of color TV to project the images onto the screen under the control of television signals. Laser display technology uses laser as light source, making full use of laser's wavelength selectivity and high spectral brightness characteristics, so that the displayed images will have greater color gamut space for expression.Based on the development of laser TV nowadays, this study focuses on providing a standard video signal interface circuit to bring forward the research of laser TV. The laser TV of this system, which uses red, green, and blue three different kinds of wavelengths as light sources of color laser TV, decodes the TV signals and makes the storage to the image storage system with chrominance and luminance signal extracted from the image storage system. After the processing of color management system, the RGB drive signals and drive signals will be transmitted to the LCOS display system and then color images be projected onto the screen by the laser beam. It is mainly composed by laser, video processing systems (including color management systems and LCOS Display system), screen and other components.The main contribution of this work is the study of the realization of laser television in the video processing system. First, an introduction to the significance, background and development of the research of laser TV is given. Then some important technologies of laser TV are emphasized, including its working principle, the differences between laser TV and others, the relevant color gamut background and display theory of LCOS. After that, this study also covers the overall framework of laser TV as well as composing and designing schemes of video processing system. In the end, the realization of color management system in video processing system is studied. Meanwhile, the topics on color conversion and color gamut expansion, the design of LCOS display system and relevant hardware and software are also explored. After test, the processing and display of color can be realized which build a solid foundation for further development of laser TV system.
