Study On Using Linked Data Technology To Achieve Networked Knowledge Organization System

In China, the concept of "knowledge organization" first provided by the famous Professor Yuan Hanqing in library and information science in 1964. knowledge in knowledge organization is very different from it is in philosophy, it is not metaphysics, but knowledge can encode, store, manage, transfer, exchange, inseparable from infrastructures forming of the information society currently, it is the knowledge provided by the computer and the Internet. In order to achieve knowledge organization, first of all,it needs to create a complete set of knowledge representation, then to achieve description of conceps, relationships and rules in different areas by this approach, in order to achieve the description of digital resources.The traditional knowledge organization theory and methods developed well in the traditional literature environment, playing the role of standard knowledge representation. But only in the areas of academic information, apply to a narrower coverage. With the application of the changing environment, the continuous development of network semantic technology, resource objects in internet continuously enriched and complicated, it forms the demands of information expression in fine-grained and semantic, needing the machine can handle even the machine understandable. Knowledge organization systems as information organization methods and tools, it also needs to change its existing forms with the changing application environment, to continue to play the role of revealing resources. This paper comprehensively reviews the dynamic of domestic and international Networked Knowledge Organization System, comprehensive study the status that knowledge organization system apply in network information organization, analysis the disadvantages of traditional knowledge tools in the network environment, and discusses the application of emerging Semantic Web tools such as RDF, SKOS, ontology and other knowledge organization systems in the network.. On this basis, it introduces the latest technology to avhieve networked knowledge organization: Linked Data and other related technologies. Linked Data as a new semantic publishing tool, is an important technology of revealing and using for digital resources. There are broad application prospects in the integration of data in isolation, providing open metadata service, achieving semantic interoperability of data and the Web service. Finally, it introduces the successful cases about publishing Linked Data and achieving data web services in Swedish National Library and the Library of Congress, and explores the web-based service which use linked data technology, using SKOS to transform traditional "Chinese Classified Thesaurus" to achieve vocabulary.
