For testing artillery firing dispersion, the conventional method is based on double CCD intersection measuring system in the shooting range test. But, the system can only measure impacting position for single projectile and can't work to measure impacting position when two or more projectiles go through target at the same time. Three CCD and four CCD intersection measuring methods were put forward based on the previous method of double CCD intersection measurement vertical target dispersion in this thesis. Three CCD and four CCD intersection measuring system can make up the deficiency of double CCD intersection measurement and realize vertical target dispersion measurement when multiple projectiles go through target at the same time. The measurement principle and deficiency of double CCD intersection measurement were researched in the thesis. The principle of multiple CCD intersection measurement was investigated and the measuring formula for three CCD intersection measurement vertical target dispersion was deduced in detail. Secondly, the hardware design of measuring system was carried out. The image processing algorithms and projectile center pixel calculation method was given. Consequently the validity and feasibility was verified by the test of real projectile indoor and outdoor.Projectile image processing algorithms mainly include median filter, image subtraction, image segmentation based on threshold selection method and so on. The median filter algorithm can not only filter image noise but also well reserve the edge information of projectile. The image subtraction and OTSU algorithm of threshold selection method were used to well separate projectile image from background image. The projectile center pixel calculation method was researched to calculate the angle between the impacting position and the optical axis. Then the impacting position can be calculated based on the measuring formula of double CCD intersection system.By carrying out emulating of MATLAB and testing real projectile indoor and outdoor, the measuring program and image processing algorithms are valid and feasible. They could be work to measure impacting position for double projectiles in the shooting range test.The research program could be not only solve the problem of measuring impacting position for double projectiles, but also use for measuring vertical target dispersion of multiple projectiles. The technology has the characteristics of strong adaptability and high measurement accuracy and play important role in promoting the technological level of shooting range test.
