Casting CAE is a new way to transform and upgrade traditional casting process by computer technology, which reflects the produce status and distribution of casting defects more accurately by simulating the foundry solidification process visually. However, the enterprises need to pay a greatly human, material and financial resource to meet the CAE software's using demand, which includes expensive cost for software and talent demand. So casting CAE technology has not been widely used, especially in the small and medium enterprises.With the rapid development of computer network technology, our life has greatly changed. Therefore, the development program which established a CAE technology platform in foundry industry for public service was propsed based the computer network. It trying to apportion the expensive purchase cost of CAE software for foundry to many small and medium enterprises, so as to not only saving the cost and time of purchasing and training, but also sloving the problems in the casting process more cheaper, convenient, and faster. The platform may help sharing the foundry resources, while it is also very important for improving the CAE technology usage in the foundry business.Based on the ideas above, this paper research and development the CAE technology platform for public service in Foundry, which using multi-layer B/S structure of the logical system, and working through the ASP business model.Firstly, paper describes the whole design and process of platform. Chooses B/S as the structure of platform, establishes the function module, and analyzes the operation mechanism, then listes the reasonable work flow. Secondly, the platform selects the Microsoft Visual Studio.NET as development platform; all interfaces are achieved by ASP.NET and C# in the Presentation layer and Logical layer. Thirdly, by the MAGMAsoft, the platform builds Application layer and set up the compute process of numerical simulation. Then paper finishes the design of Data layer, and the response mechanism of database system is constructed by ASP.NET and ADO.NET.At last, the development scheme's feasibility and use value of platform is approved by the simulation of cast steel part.Example shows that:the development scheme of foundry CAE technology platform for public services is practical and feasible; The platform realizes the design target, because of it can effectly solve the problems of cast process and reduce the cost of using CAE technology significantly. And it also establishes a good foundation for futher study in the future.
