Central Station Software Design Using For Transmission Of Digital Walkie-talkie Through Internet

Nowadays, walkie-talkie as an instant communication eqiupment in prouduction and managemnet attracted many customers because it has the virture of convinience, low prices, commmunication reliabilty, etc. However the communication scope of walkie-talkie is limited, the communication distance of normal walkie-talkie is about 3-5 kilometers, while the communication distance of some special walkie-talkie is more than 10 kilometers, but the real distance is 2-7km, if there are large buildings and other obstacles the communication scope is still less. With the support of the basestation the communication distance can reach dozens of kilometers, but it increases the cost of the whole system. This paper discuss a scheme which is used for the transmission of the voice and data of digital walkie-talkie through Internet to enlarge the communication scope, and mainly focus on the design and implementation of the software of the central station, which is the key part of the system. The scheme links digital walkie-talkie with computer using serial port,the computer acts as a central station to forward the data,and the data is transmitted through Internet. First, the serial port communication protocol between digital walkie-talkie and computer is designed, on this basis the central station software is designed.The software mainly includes threeparts, the first one is the design and realization of the communication protocolbetween the walkie-talkie module and the computer, the second one is usingUDP protocol to transmit the data through Internet, and the third one is usingaccess database to manage the users'number of walkie-talkie and IP addressof central station.Through testing the central station software, it shows that thedesigned serial port communication protocol is feasible, and using thissoftware through this scheme it can effectively enlarge the communicationscope of digital walkie-talkie.
