The advent of advanced process control has revolutionized the chemical process control community, but in practice, various factors make the system performance degradation, the major reason is the lack of robust controller, important asset-management and self-healing controllers to maintain highly efficient operation performance of automation systems in production. So, this paper presents a robust PID controller tuning approach and a systematic MPC controller self-healing method. And then apply the advanced prcess control and optimization software package successful in industrial processes.First, a robust guaranteed cost PID controller and its performance assess was presented for a class of uncertain with delay time continuous systems and a given quadratic performance index. The design procedure can be obtained directl by solving a linear matrix inequality (LMI). And the argorithm was extended to discrete systems. Both numerical example and industrial process application are given to illustrate the design procedure and its effectiveness.Secondly, in order to solving controller performance degradation and systems high costs of re-identification, this paper proposed a model predictive controller self-healing solutions. From the point of self-healing, through performance monitoring, LQG performance evaluation and parameter tuning to maintain a high controller performance, and all the design solutions is given in terms of the feasible solutions to a LMI. Combined with industrial models, a realistic simulation results show that proposed solutions achieved satisfactory control effect.In addition, a software package with controller performance evaluation, parameters tuning and optimiazaion designed for a typical process control loop. Through the implementation of the project to improve control quality, reduce the production cost and the regulation of operators work.
