The vehicle navigation technology developed in recent years, as an important part of the intelligent transport system, applies the GPS to the vehicle. As people's personal travel requirements and the intensification of urban traffic tension, the vehicle navigation service has a very large market. So it will certainly become a basic equipmen of an car soon after.In fact, the vehicle navigation application has experienced many years of development in Japan, Europe, the United States and other developed countries, and gets great benefits and success. With China's sustained, rapid and stable development, the vehicle will be a booming industry trend. Attendantly, the vehicle navigation technology will have a transition from pure technology research and development to industrial development developmen. R & D of GPS vehicle navigation system suiting our own national conditions has a great research significance and practical value.The vehicle navigation technology is a complex embedded systems combining the GPS with electronic maps, and it often uses different hardware platforms, operating systems and electronic maps. The vehicle location can be tracked quickly and accurately by the GPS positioning, which is precise, all-weather and real time. Using the GIS technology, the vehicle location information can be displayed in the electronic map, which helps users to accurately know their current location.This article describes one vehicle navigation system with the embedded processor of PXA270 and the embedded operating system of windows CE6.0. Its basic features include:automatic vehicle location, route design, route guidance services, and some commonly entertainment tools. The GPS vehicle navigation system designed in this article has been in the domestic market, and has good economic benefits. The main contents of this article include:1) Introduce the research background, purpose, meaning and the actual domestic and abroad research existence of the vehicle GPS navigation system, including the current level of development and existing problems.2) Research the performance parameters of the embedded GPS vehicle navigation system, and lodge the system's overall design project.3) The main hardware mode is PXA270 and GPD14B01 as the location information processing and transceiver. Migrate the embedded operating system WinCE6.0 to the hardeware plartform above, including the Eboot transplantation of the BSP, customizing the OS kernel and the driver transplantation for major hardeware.4) Complete the upper application design and development based on WinCE6.0 to give user-friendly and humane interface and good user experience.
