Several years ago, when Bill Gates declared"Information on your fingertip"to the world, we opened the curtains of the information age. But no one can expect that we have to face the dilemma of communication excess very soon. The development of information technology and network technology completely change the previous communication environment, recently 30 years, the information has been greatly exceeded the summation of human production of information in past five thousands years. Compared with the present,"information surplus", mentioned by communication scholars in the 70s of last century, is just a warm-up exercises.Communication excess and Information surplus are similar but different concepts. Information surplus just show that the quantity of information are too much, however communication excess is not just about"the quantity of information"but more about"the degree of information", meanwhile, communication excess also explains that the repetition rate of communicating informaiton is very high and the frequency of communicating information is very fast. Furthermore communication excess not only include the excessive of communication information, but also include the excessive of communication attitude,communication way and communicaton system. Therefore, using"communication excess"to describe today's communication environment should be more precise.But media and audience, who are in the environment of communication excess, are both not feel the slightest of easy, on the contrary , both of them fall into a dilemma position. Information surplus,information pollution and information barrier are all existence, which make audience looking for what you need information cost increasing, because of high cost, when facing informaiton sea, the audiece become more and more anxious. While in the communication excess environment, the media can communicate more and more information and spread more and more broad, but the media find that there is more and more difficult to spread information to their target audience.Facing communication excess, the media and the audience both need to change themselves before they can walk out of this dilemma. The media shoud change their"high" attitude, face to face with audience integrate actively into social conversation; and to be a balancer of all quarters opinion; simplifing information, and at the same time paying attention to the power of interpretation of the information. While the audience, facing communication excess, need to improve capability of processing, finding and using information, increase their information literacy and mobile living wisdom, that is, the MQ; paying attention to the power of know, and at the same time paying attention to the power of unknow; if necessary, turn off the TV, throw away phones, resist advertising, and carry on"information fast".
