Along with the development of computer multimedia technology, video compression technology and network transmission technology, the visualization systems have been paid more and more attention in all walks of life. The data is transmitted mainly by the broadcast in existing network visualization system, and excessive network resources will be wasted in this way. IP Multicast has many different aspects from broadcast, with which the data only be sent to the designated recipient group, and can effectively reduce the burden of network, so it is suitable for multi-control point, multi-client and cross-local area network visualization system. In order to improve the means of military training and solve the practical problems during the process, information technology is applied in it, and visualization system of military training based on IP multicast technology is constructed in this paper. The system provides the necessary conditions for promoting military training changes towards network and informationization, in the meantime, it plays an important role in the rapid formation of military combat effectiveness. The overall structure of the system is given based on the analysis of the system requirements, at the same time, hardware and software design of front-end monitoring, control centers, remote clients and communication network are also completed. The system software is developed in the VisualC++6.0 environment, and C/S (Client/Server) architecture is used. The specific realization method such as collection preview, taking photos, video playback, platform-lens control and network transmission have been given by introducing multi-threading technology and modular design idea. During the process of realizing the IP multicast correspondence by using the WinSock network programming technology, the key factors of network transmission between monitoring center and remote client are fully considered. Two communication parts are designed aiming at the features that multiple clients need sharing video information of the system, one part is multicast connection, which is used to establish connection between control center and client, including send some data requests and confirm control information. The other is the data transmission part, which is used to transfer monitoring information. By studying the compression techniques and network transmission protocols, two different communication protocols are used for the two parts according to the real-time requirement of network transmission in the military training visualization system. The more reliable TCP protocol is adopt to transmit control information in multicast connection part, and the more real-time UDP/RTP/RTCP protocol is adopt to transmit video information in data transmission part. In order to make the monitoring process of visualization system more flexible, serial communication technology is used to realize the local and remote control of platform-lens. In the remote control process, connection-oriented socket is selected for control instruction transmission, with which the remote control is achieved accurately and reliably. After the system test, the results show that the structure of system is flexible, and the operability and scalability are stronger. It also shows that the system has a broad practical significance in promoting the development of network visualization technology and the reform of military training.
