Along with China's rapid increase in the amount of motor vehicle and construction of national road network, inter-city exchanges become increasingly frequent. Driven by short-term interest, overloading, speeding and fatigue driving are widespread among the long-distance passenger transport market, resulting in the frequent occurrence of major accidents, and becoming a great threat of people's lives and property.According to the functional requirements of coach monitoring, the system program based on GPS/RFID/GPRS/GIS was proposed. The system was divided into vehicle terminal and the monitoring center: ATmega2560 MCU was adopted as the main controller, combined with GPS, RFID and multi-sensor detection to realize vehicle location and overloading, speeding, fatigue driving judge; vehicle operating status and image data were uploaded to the monitoring center via GPRS with agreed data frame format, and GSM short message was used as a backup means to upload the key parameters of vehicle.Monitoring center was designed with Visual Basic as the development platform, and Access as the backend database; Winsock ActiveX control was used to receive the information uploaded via TCP/IP protocol and MSComm was adopted to get the data transmitted by SMS, then further analysis, recombination, access and display were carried out;MapX was used as the secondary development platform to complete basic map operations, binding Access data source, real-time display of vehicle location and playback historical trajectory, and achieve real-time monitoring of on-line vehicles.Meanwhile, query instructions, scheduling instructions, service or warning information can be issued to achieve real-time management. In addition, if the coach being in the event of a robbery or an accident, it can send alarm information to the monitoring center to obtain timely rescue. After testing, the real-time information exchange between the vehicle terminal and monitoring center was realized. All-weather, real-time monitoring, scheduling and management were achieved to raise the level of safe operation and coach scheduling management efficiency.
