Along with the rapid development of our country automobile industry, our urban automobile inventory mounts up by speed of 15% each year, and has reached several ten millions at present, which is followed by the serious traffic jam, the dispersive vehicles which is difficult to be managed and the serious phenomenon of robbing and stealing. Thus it has the significant practical meaning to carry on the research and the development of the Vehicle Monitoring System.This thiesis studied deeply the key techniques of the Vehicle Monitoring System. Based on the Vehicle Monitoring System having the traits of high real-time, small data quantity and the GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) network having several advantages such as low expense, short time delay, high coverage and supporting TCP/IP protocol, a wireless communication platform that utilizes the GPRS technology is put forward and the communication protocol is drew up. The software of the Vehicle Monitoring System is designed as three level pyramidal Client/Server frameworks, which are Information Gateway, Service Center and the Monitoring Client. By the wireless communication platform, the Vehicle Terminal sends GPS (Global Positioning System) location information to Information Gateway which then delivers the information to Service Center. After receiving the information, the Service Center sends it to the Monitoring Client and displays the positions of the vehicles on the digital map. At the same time it sends the information to the Data Center and saves it in the Database. The system can also be expanded by needs, and it has the capability of dealing with ten thousands vehicles'data.The GIS (Geographic Information System) component is SuperMap Objects which is provided by SuperMap Company. Besides having GIS function, it also has characteristics of succinct system structure, strong graphic function and small system scale. Using .NET platform and C#.NET, the system carries out vehicle tracking and monitoring, trace replay, vehicle alarm, interactive query of map-property, map control and so on.By driving tests, the system has achieved expectant result. The Vehicle Monitoring System based on GPS/GIS can be applied in goods circulation, taxi, projection vehicle, police vehicle and private vehicle etc. This system also produces an effective project for enhancing the vehicle management and defending the vehicle against the robbing and stealing. |
