Wireless sensor network WSN (Wireless Sensor Network) is the large number of computing and storage capacity is limited, and certain wireless communication capability of sensor nodes to self-organized network of way. Low-cost, low power consumption makes the wireless sensor network in many areas have good prospects, but also that its own characteristics, the research in information science has also become a new hotspot. In the wireless sensor node operating system to run due to resource constraints, the need for common operating system to do some modifications to better system performance to play. Developed by the University of California, Berkeley TinyOS open source operating system widely used. This paper introduces the background knowledge of wireless sensor networks, and briefly introduces the various applications of wireless sensor networks, particularly given the extensive environmental monitoring applications, followed by discussion of the wireless sensor network node hardware and software modules. In the context of environmental monitoring, we analyzed the existing wireless sensor network in multi-hop routing protocol, and simulation, from a different angle compared several common routing protocol, followed by another on this basis we that a new aggregation tree protocol. Through analysis and comparison, we find a application in environmental monitoring of multi-hop routing protocols. Finally, the article attempts to real nodes tested, and proposed the way forward and future directions.
