Studies On The Text To Spread The Taoist Doctrine

As far as I know,the text to spread the taoist doctrine only exist in DunHuang Manuscripts,it is a complicated text that contains the contents of delicating oneself to Taoist, giving abroad alms and constructing the hell's merits,keeps records of the activity happened in the Taoist sermon seances and the other activities such as doctrine granting,giving alms and expressing good desire.Mr.WangKa find four files,adds the one I found,it amounts to five files,four kinds of texts. Although there is a small number,it has a great value for further researching.P.3021+P.3876(<道教中元金篆斋讲经文(拟)>)and P.3899(<道教讲经文(拟)>)keep records of the sermon activities happened in early and middle Tang Dynasty.The fore's date is Tang XuanZong Kai Yuan three year(开元三年),it records a formal sermon activity,it has a straightaway content.The latter was mistaken as(<道经义疏>)。After I study in many aspects, I find the true name should be.It has a relation with )>,the date probably is between tianbao one year and tianbao fourteen year.BD1219 and BD7620 reflects the atatus of the taoist sermon activity in late Tang,five dynasty and early Song,its exact date needs further study.The fore records a huangluzhai(黄箓斋),held by the people spontaneously,contains holding fast,holding sermon congress and pleasing God etc.It also remains a real status of granting(<十�'经>).'he latter reflects there were taoism sermon activity in Guiyijun Regime in Dunhuang.From the aspects of the seromn process,the taoist sermon activity didn't strictly follow some given regulates,every activity had a slight change according to the difference of the ritual. From the aspects of the sermon ritual,every sermon congress had different ritual activity. From the formula of the contents, n addition to some story drawn from everyday life, things or phenomena, the text to spread the taoist doctrine created lots of story according to the Buddhism story or by reference to the template or adaptation of folk tales or stories or by analogy or assumptions.In the early and middle Tang Dynasty,the text pay a great attention to the issue of three religious, P.3021+P.3876 consider that the Buddhist and the Taoist has a same origins and a different anabranch, they are indispensable, while the Taoist is better than the Buddhist.P.3899 on the basis of the summary of the former arguments,hold that in the quality ther are the same,in the surface they are the same.
