Radar signal processing is an important part in the system. In the paper, pulse compression, adaptive sidelode canceling and clutter canceling are studied with the experience in the project, and the several technologies have been implemented by DSP and applied in a certain radar signal processor.The theories and algorithm of the modules above are analyzed in details. We discuss the Doppler shift effect on the performance of LFM signal pulse compression, and introduce the corresponding solution. As the clutter canceling uses MTI and MTD technology, the designs of the filters are studied. The implementations of the technologies such as pulse compression, adaptive sidelode canceling, MTI and MTD are analyzed and improved. As the processing core of the radar signal processor is ADSP-TS201, the implementations of the algorithm on DSP chips are focus discussed. The software design of the processor is optimized by assembly language, which allows the efficiency of the program is greatly enhanced.At the end of the paper, the test result based on the signal resource board and the optimization design of the processor software are given. The radar signal processor has been successfully applied in engineering, and has been proved that it is of steady performance.
