Design And Implementation Of EPON Network Management System Based On Web

EPON (Ethernet Passive Optical Network) is a fiber-optic access network technology, which combines the advantages of Ethernet and PON technology that make it become the most powerful competitors in the next generation of access networks. EPON network management is the one of key technologies and plays an important role as the technology of EPON developing. In this paper, the EPON network management system based on web is designed, focusing on the management of EPON system that simplifies the installation, operation and maintenance.At first, the EPON network architecture is introduced, and the simple network management protocol SNMP and ICMP are analyzed. The distributed management architecture of EPON network management system is designed according to its own structure and characteristics. The system architecture is designed in accordance with MVC design patterns. The system modules including topology, fault, performance, configuration, performance, security management are defined. Secondly, the background database of system is designed and implemented. After understanding the requirement of system, the topology, and alarm and performance management module are specifically designed and implemented. Finally, the testing platform is constructed for the system, the results of every testing and analyses are exhibited, then the improving direction of the system is proposed.The EPON network management that is designed and implementation in this paper is fully functional and has good stability, scalability and reusability. It provides the easy operating platform to the administrator, and simplifies the work of EPON network management for the administrator. All of the works in this paper provide reference value for the development of EPON network management technology.
