The Design And Realization Of MVB-Ethernet Gateway

TCN (IEC61375), which formulated by International Organization for Standardization, is a data communication standard applied to open train. TCN train bus is generally divided into two parts:MVB bus (for vehicle communication) and WTB bus (for train communication).TCN gives a fundamental solution of interoperability between train and vehicle control equipment. Using TCN in train communication system minimize the cost of train communication system's development, production, use and maintenance. Now, TCN is a popular train network standard in China and even around the world.However, with the deepening research of train communication, compare with the benefits of industrial Ethernet recently, the TCN products had a lot of technology and cost limitations. Industrial Ethernet is becoming a new direction of train network. Therefore, By analyzing the MVB bus protocol and Ethernet protocol, a solution to connect Ethernet and MVB network is given. It is the MVB-Ethernet gateway, which helps the ethernet vehicle equipment replace existing MVB vehicle equipment in MVB bus. The analysis and explanation of the gateway's function, principle, designing and realization are also given by this paper.Firstly, the MVB and Ethernet protocols have been analyzed in detail. Secondly, to achieve the specific needs of Ethernet accessing MVB network, a design of MVB-Ethernet gateway hardware system which based on GEC-S100 PC/104 platform is proposed. At the same time, the analysis and design of MVB bus interface module and ethernet interface module is given. Thirdly, by analyzing the basic principles and main function demanding of gateway, MVB driver and the data conversion function module are analyzed in detail. This part about the system software architecture is a focal point. Final, a gateway communication test system is given and implemented. Based on it, an experiments and test of gateway performance is made to prove the rationality and possibility of the designing.
