In latest years, the colliery safety accidents occur frequently, which cause heavy casualties and huge economic losses, so the situation is still serious. Security issue is tightly related to the backword safety technology and low network of coal mine safety monitoring system. Therefore, establishing a flexible, extensive, secure and reliable wireless coal mine safety monitoring system is imperative. This thesis presents a novel technology of coal mine environment monitoring system. It combines with the wireless network technology of ZigBee which is short range and low rate.The paper in-depth studied realization of mine environment monitoring system and designed overall scheme and flow of system.According to requirement of system function, the hardware system was developed. It was composed of two parts:data transmission equipment and data acquisition equipment which based on ZigBee wireless communication module; through analyzing the various factors affecting the sensors accuracy, the method that was compensation and correction algorithms was applied to compensate and correct the concentrations of methane, oxygen and carbon monoxide.About energy control of the ZigBee network, improved Z-AODV routing algorithm was designed and applied to coal mine environmental monitoring systems, it reduced energy consumption while ensuring the stability of communication networks. Then, according to the functions of every node in wireless network, the software system was developed based on ZigBee2006 protocol. And the functions which were wireless networking of system equipment and data transceiver were achieved.Every function modules of coal mine environment monitoring system were tested. And the feasibility of the coal mine environment monitoring system was verified by the test results.
