ABSTRACT:Virtual Reality (VR) is a virtual environment constructed by computer, which is similar to reality, and it allows consumers to experience the human-computer interactional technology by natural skills. VR is widely applied in the reality. It contains advantages that traditional methods don't in medical area; meanwhile clinical study indicates that the technology can bring positive effects on rehabilitation. This paper aims at application of the technology in movement disorder rehabilitation caused by stroke. In virtual rehabilitation system, virtual scene is one of study points. Movement disorders need different virtual reality platforms to train different parts. This paper points at the design of virtual reality training platform for wrist movement disorders. Patients play a role in the virtual environment, become a part of the whole environment, and recover gradually from the wrist movement disorder, by movement training and interaction with the virtual environment. In this paper, models are created by 3ds Max, so is the material. Then by Virtools, the models are interacted and integrated, which leads to the contradiction of virtual reality platform oriented hand rehabilitation. The platform designs 2 scenes for hand disorder patients, one of which is mainly about wrist flexion and extension training, and the other adds a function to train ulnar flexion and extension of wrist. Each of them is designed with 3 difficulty levels for patients to choose, and it would score automatically after the training. The experiment demonstrates that the platform works well and values practically, so it is worthy to be expanded in rehabilitation of movement disorders.
