With the liberalization of national telecommunications industry trend of falling prices of fiber optic cable, communication cable in various fields has been widely used also for human has brought new challenges. How to fiber-optic cables for high-performance, high-quality maintenance and management is a communication network to ensure smooth running of the key issues, especially in the event of fiber failure, the fault can be accurated and fast fault location, quickly ruled out.For this problem, I actively organize fiber fault location system, and strive to place fiber failure, to achieve fast fault location, fault duration, and troubleshooting compression hidden.The author participated in the development of optical fiber fault system, the principal tasks are as follows: 1)Analysis of the current method of optical fiber test, monitoring the main techniques and methods involved in China Tietong Hebei Branch fiber fault location investigation, summing up the current optical fiber monitoring shortcomings.2)Studying of optical fiber fault location principles and algorithms. Analysis of currently used by the Fourier transform and short-time Fourier transform in optical fiber fault location in less than for fiber failure, to determine the exact fault location is proposed through the wavelet transform to detect and analyze fault transient signal method.3)For failure detection Wavelet function, scaling and noise reduction threshold decomposition, wavelet transform, such as the selection of the initial data were studied. In the actual data and test curve, based on the noise reduction of curves and cable fault locating a simulation, in China Tietong Handan branch NMC actual test data, test results show that the wavelet transform to fault location is feasible .Finally, the paper based on wavelet transform of the optical fiber fault location and the development curve analysis were reviewed, and pointed out the shortcomings and future directions for further improvement.
