Design And Implementation Of Weihai Vocational College Educational Management System

Educational management is a significant and very complex work in the management of colleges and universities. Weihai Vocational College is devoted to training talents with high-level vocational skills. With the deepening of China's educational reform, the number of vocational college students is incresing continuously. The curriculum is developed constantly in both depth and breadth. The teaching institutions have gradually been transitted from the school system to the credit system. Educational management, with incresing data, has become more and more difficult. All problems of school management are a daunting task for staffs. Therefore, vocational institute's academic management system should adapt to the rapid development of higher education career in terms of management or the means.With the increasing development of internet technologies and Web widespread applications, Weihai Vocational College has built a large campus network. Therefore, the basic conditions have been provided to upgrade the educational management system. The educational management system can be transformed into the Internet structure from a stand-alone or local area network structure. The academic administrators, teachers and students manage the system by accesssing the school's academic management system with Web browser.Owning to the problems of Weihai Vocational College educational administration, Weihai Vocational College of educational management system development process are described and analyzed based on software engineering. The initial exploration and practice have been carried out for the system, combined with the characteristics of school. This paper describes the overall planning of the project from the description of the project background and the needs of users. The UML applied in the system development. The case diagram and active diagram represent the main requirements of users in requirements analysis. The detailed system's main function modules are implemented in the architecture design process. The static structure of the system is represented by the relationship class diagram. The dynamic structure of the system is represented by state diagram. The main database structure is also introduced. System is implemented based on.NET, SQL Server and other technologies and tools. The main functional modules are carried out by case diagrams, active diagrams and sequence diagrams. Weihai Vocational College Academic Management System is built with B/S architecture.The performance management subsystem, courses selection subsystem and courses scheduling subsystem are implemented in the process of disign. Performance management subsystem is aimed at teachersto entry, query and analysis operations. Courses selection subsystem includes the operation of selection principle, students' selection and withdraws. Course scheduling management subsystem is aimed at course scheduling algorithms, automatic course scheduling and manual course scheduling and other operations. The management system will greatly reduce the difficulty of teaching management. The work of educational administration will be into a new stage with the increment of work efficiency.
