With the development of technology and people's increasing requirement, the embedded system has been widely used, especially in the fields of electronics, communication and instrument, etc. In this thesis, a kind of embedded radio measuring terminal is designed and implemented in the view of application. The terminal is based on the 32-bit ARM microprocessor S3C2440A and the embedded real-time operating system Windows CE. It not only realizes the auto-measuring of tactical radios, but also provides functions of several all-purpose instruments. So the embedded radio measuring terminal makes it possible to automatically measure the tactics radio, as well as to solve the problem of operational complexity for the base army radio.This thesis researches key technology involved in the design, development and application of the embedded radio measuring terminal and proposes reasonable solutions. The thesis is mainly composed of five parts:Firstly, the embedded system and its general developing method are introduced, and then the whole design scheme is brought forward in the concept of software-hardware co-design.Secondly, the microprocessor S3C2440A, which is based on ARM920T kernel, is chosen as the kernel of hardware platform. The direct digital synthesis (DDS) technique is adopted to make the modular design of the platform. The main modular circuit diagrams are presented. In the end, parts of an appraratus are chosen under the request of system characteristic.Thirdly, based on Platform Builder, the Windows CE operating system is customized, the device driver is developed and system image is built, and then process of the operating system migration is introduced in detail.Fourthly, the software platform is designed based on Embedded Visual C++. While the development of drivers in hardware devices and multi-task programs on operating system Windows CE is introduced in detail.Fifthly, after the software-hardware collaborative design and debugging, performance tests of the embedded radio measuring terminal are carried out and detailed data and results are given.In the epilog of the thesis, the summary and future work is proposed.
