With the improvement of the society and the development of the economic, as an very important energy, creating and transmitting electrical energy is more and more important. People's lives and works are relative to the security of the electric power system. The current breaker is an important device in the electric power system. Currently, most power company employs the SF6 current breaker. Although SF6 is avirulent, the hexaflouride, hydrogen fluoride are poisonous gas. If they are leaked to the air will pollute the environment.Task of this subject is to complete a design and implementation a module in the SF6 gas video detector which is used as processing video signal. FPGA is chosen as the kernel device of the equipment. The platform is the board Mars-XC3S400-F which use the device Spartan3 of Xilinx corporation. We do research and development on practical technology based on the relevant standards and algorithms. The subject complete module division of the project, Verilog HLD code writing (or IP core call), and simulation and debugging and joint debugging in the board. It is designed to implement different image processing effect in different envioment.According to the client's demand, this paper porposed a video detective scheme, after studied the SF6 gas detector home and abroad. In order to fit different environment, the equipment have to provide the function as image adjust and processing. The job contents:deviding module which including serial data input module, synchronizing signal captured module, extreme value of luminance collction module extracted module, image processing module, luminance autoregulation module, luminace and contrast regulation module, I2C communication module (including the master mode and the slave mode), SDRAM controller module and the ITU-R BT.656 data transmitting module, ext. and the Verilog HLD code writing (or IP core call), and simulation and debugging and joint debugging in the board of these modules. In the process of debugging, we take full advantage of the development board and the debugging software ChipScope which is provided by Xilinx corporation.We layed down the system testing plan and tested every module and connected all the modules together to make joint debugging.Experiment results show that the system function can meet the client's demand, and the model machine has been producted as trials.
