With the development of the laser technology and infrared technology, CO2 laser has been widely applied to medical devices. But the transmission device currently in used is mainly guided optical arm, which is very cumbersome and can not move freely. For this, hollow-core energy transmitting optical fiber is the main way to solution this problem. This paper theoretically analyzes the transmission characteristics of the metal/dielectric leakage of hollow-core energy transmitting optical fiber. Using liquid-phase chemistry deposition methods, AgI/Ag hollow-core energy transmitting optical fibers are prepared with transmitting stable and low loss. The main results are summarized as follows:Firstly, from the theory of the ray optics and guided wave optics, the transmitting mechanism of the red energy transmitting optical fibers are described. Through theoretical analysis on the transmission characteristics of metal hollow-core optical fiber and dielectric/metal leakage hollow-core optical fiber, dielectric/metal leakage hollow-core optical fibers are fabricated, which is hollow-core silica capillary as the material, silver as the metal film and silver iodide as the dielectric film.Secondly, in this work, the fabrication of silver film and the aspects the many factors of silver film (such as the pretreatment process, the rate of the solution, reaction time, temperature, etc.) are studied on. According to the mechanism of sensitization, the sensitizing effect of SnCl2 solution and identify suitable fabrication programs and processes are studied. Meanwhile, through researching fabrication of silver iodide film and influencing factors, the fabrication of appropriate silver iodide film can be determined.Finally, the surface topography of hollow-core energy transmitting optical fibers is measured by our laboratory. By studying the calculation method of the hollow-core transmitting energy optical fiber loss, line loss and bending loss of hollow-core transmitting energy optical fiber can be measured and explained from the ray optics and guided wave optics. The optical fiber has the characteristics of transmission stability and low transmission loss, through analysis the transmission performance.
