ISO(International Organization for Standardization) and ITU(International Telecommunication Union) work together to work out a new video coding standard-H. 264.H.264 has a higher compression ratio,a better image compression quality and network compatibility,so it has an outstanding performancethe in the storage and network transmission.However,the introduction of new technologies of various H.264 encoding algorithm makes the complexity increased rapidly,how to reduce the complexity so that it can meet the requirements of real-time communication has become an urgent problem to be solved.In this paper,on the basis of detailed analysis of H.264 coding theory,study and improve motion estimation and intra-frame prediction mode selection algorithm in the H.264 standard,and then accomplish video encoding system based on H.264 in the EAX-400 of embedded platform.Firstly,introduced the theory of video encoding,analyzed some key technologies used in H.264 encoding standard,and then compared its coding performance with several other commonly used standards,the test results show that the coding performance of H.264 is better.Secondly,study the H.264 for motion estimation,analyzed the typical block-matching motion estimation algorithm.From the all-zero block detection and direction of the bias,proposed motion estimation algorithm based on EPZS. Experimental results show that the motion estimation algorithm proposed ensure the accuracy of the search,while improved the speed of motion estimation to a certain extentThirdly,study the H.264 intra-frame prediction coding techniques,analyzed the computational complexity of the full search algorithm.From the relationship of the neighboring direction and the similarity between larger blocks and smaller blocks put forward a fast intra prediction mode selection algorithm.Experimental results show that the algorithm improve the encoding speed under the guarantee of the quality of the halftone image.Finally,we use the H.264 coding algorithm improved in embedded platform EAX-400,and optimize the code software,final,achieve the video coding system based on embedded linux.
