With the development of internet and video technique, video transmission has been applied in many aspects of people's life and work. Because video may be affected by bandwidth change, packet delay and packet loss in network transmission (especially wireless network), we need to construct an effective and robust video transmission system in order to transmit video credibility.Scalable video coding offers the desired scalable functionality and coding efficiency. For the same video content, the scalability of SVC decides that we only need to encode source once, and then can satisfy different terminals; in network with some packets loss or congestion, SVC can still retrieve the video image with some distortions at terminals. Thus, we mainly research on transmission credibility of scalable video coding.In traditional way of network transmission, relay nodes are only used to do the simple store-and-forward operation, and network coding let intermediate nodes have the ability of encoding the received messages, so it can enhance network throughput, and improve the credibility of network and the ability of defense. This paper mainly research on using network coding to SVC video transmission, in order to solve or reduce the bad effect of packet loss and bandwidth change, through research on a reasonable network coding method to enhance the credibility and robustness of video transmission.This dissertation particularly discusses the base principle of network coding and its application, deeply studies the application of network coding in multicast, at the same time, simply introduces pretreatment algorithms of SVC codes, proposes a detailed scheme that using network coding for video transmission in SVC video transmission system, completes network coding system design based on C language. Comparing with network coding system based on Matlab, the former enhances the simulation efficiency; and the scheme combines some different algorithms of video codes pretreatment (such as priority, packetization algorithm) to simulate, results prove that it improves the video quality user received on the condition of the same network and delay.
