Network management system is used to monitor and control performance of all kinds of equipments, such as transmission, base stations and other equipments to ensure the good functioning of the network. Data collection is the basic function of the network management system. There are a large number of communication equipments in the network. Operators need monitor lots of data of network equipments real-time, including performance data, configuration data and so on. Artificial way to interact with all network devices to obtain data on network devices is very complicated, cumbersome and unstable. In order to avoid this situation, this article is based on China Telecom CN2 network management project to achieve three mainly function of distributed data acquisition system.The project is based on the thinking of distribution. The system is divided into three layers. In the Unix platform, using C programming language, as well as network programming for development. This paper mainly describes the functional requirements for software, given the overall design of distributed data acquisition system. On this basis, the completion of the control center module, the collector process module, application module, monitoring program module and the found server program module. Finally, the system is tested.At present, the system has been deployed in China Telecom Group environment, all parts run well to improve the security and efficiency of the data collection.
