With the great development of Internet, the IP network technology, as a carrier of service and communication, having got rapid growth in recent years. The services based on IP technology also develop rapidly, which make the network become more and more enormous. Especially the next-generation Internet-IPv6 network is widely used today, as a result of the 128 bit address space in IPv6 network which notes the device will grow explosively. Traditional centralized network management model can not manage such a large network at all. Distributed network management has been recognized as necessary to deal with the increasingly computer network because of its flexibility, dispersion in management areas, independence in management functions, etc.The great development of Object-Oriented technology and distributed computing, especially the strong class libraries of Python and high speed and reliability of Twisted network framework in the network communication area, which provide a new way to the implementation of distributed network management based on IPv4/IPv6.This article will elaborate on the research and implement method of data acquisition subsystem of distributed network management based on IPv4/IPv6.This paper first introduces some base theory of network management technology, including base conception, protocols, main functions and framework of the network management.After that this paper gives a brief introduction to framework of this subsystem and conception of Python, Zope, ZODB, Twisted, demonstrate the great technology advantages to apply them to distributed network management system.Finally, the research and implementation of the data acquisition Subsystem isdiscussed in detail. Twisted is used to accomplish bottom layer's function interactingbetween data acquisition and IPv4/IPv6 protocol by its good scalability andcompatibility. In upper level, data acquisition is divided into SNMP acquisition andcommand line acquisition. SSH acquisition is mainly used in the way of commandline acquisition. The SNMP acquisition collects data by MIB. However, the SSHacquisition collect information by sending command. This paper brings up a solutionof data acquisition system used in IPv4/IPv6 network, which describes the design ofdata acquisition framework used in different protocols and implementation ofmodules from two parts which are the control segment and agent segment of dataacquisition. This way settles the problem that much information is unreadable in IPv6network management and need to be updated in the device's MIB. After that, thedevelopment of plugins and design and implementation of data reacquisition isanalyzed in this paper. Last but not least, research on efficiency and stability ofacquisition system is introduced briefly.
