At the present time,the main obstacles to employ Mobile IPv6 formally are the efficiency and security problems.Against the efficiency issue,now it can not guarantee good efficiency of handover,too much delay of handover will cause too much packet loss rate,so it can not guarantee continuous communication when the subscribers are moving;Against the security issue,the wireless environment is characterized by openness,thus makes it vulnerable to the threat of attacks,as a new generation of mobile communication protocol,mobile IPv6 does not only has the same security threats with the wireless environment,but also faces with its own protocol security vulnerabilities.So,in this thesis,we focus on addressing some problems in the mobility and security based on Mobile IPv6.Firstly,this thesis describes the characteristics of IPv6 protocol and the basic operator of the mobile IPv6,then analysis of the both delay of the standard handover and the fast handover,and the security problems of mobile IPv6.Secondly,this thesis optimizes the fast handover of Mobile IPv6 and gives the corresponding software architecture,then optimizes the security program for the process of handover and between MN and CN under fast handover,and proposes the method based on public key encryption authentication.At last,this thesis set up a test platform based on ARM Linux,then tests the function of handover and analysis the rusults of test.The test shows that the platform implement the standard hanover and fast handover of MIPv6 using the network of WiFi as the way of access,composed of the wireless network card and the wireless router,And both can maintain connection with communication end roaming form home network to foreign network,under certain delay of handover.From the results of test,we can clearly see that the fast handover has improved a lot than standard handover in delay of handover and packet loss rate,basically achieved the expected goals.
