In this paper, the reliability analysis considered intermediate state of the deployment system of a large satellite antenna is mainly discussed. We regard the deployment system and its elements all have three work states. The three states are the safety state, intermediate state, and failure state. The results of analysis should be safety probability PR , intermediate probability PM and failure probability PF , which compose so-called reliability vector [ PR ,PM,PF] of the system. First of all, the fault tree analysis (FTA) is applied for the deployment system to build the fault tree (FT) model. Secondly, with simple examples, calculation method and step for reliability vector of system are given and the failure dependence problem between structures is considered in the analysis. Thus, the reliability vector of the whole system is given by means of quantitative calculation. Thirdly, calculation method and step for the probability of the element in safety state, intermediate state and failure state are given which is based on the general reliability analysis. Finally, the calculation for the probability of the element is applied for the reliability analysis of some key parts of the deployment mechanism. The reliability vector of the key part is given.
